What is a modular home?A modular home is engineered and built in a factory controlled environment. It is designed and constructed by skilled craftsmen and then assembled by them on your building site.

How are modular homes built?It all begins at the design stage. Computer aided design program's are used to customise floor plans to your requirements and to produce drawings for the craftsmen and a materials list to estimate costs. Once designed and approved by you, the building process begins in a factory controlled environment. The quality of materials used, care for detail, and the same building codes and standards are observed as in a traditional build. 

How long does the building process take?The speed and consistent quality of construction are two of the many advantages to buying a modular home. The structure of an average two section home will be built in the factory within 4 weeks, excluding internal finishes. Obviously larger homes will take longer. Once the manufacturing process is complete the home will be transported to your site and placed on the foundation. Final assembly is handled by our craftsmen and includes connection and sealing of unit sections and connection of utilities to your home. Normally the total process takes 6-8 weeks.  

 What is the difference between a' modular home' and  a 'mobile home'?A modular home is superior in strength and structure due to its quality of design and the materials used in its construction. It is up to 3 times heavier than a mobile home and has a longer life cycle.

 Can I design my own modular home?Yes. We have a number of homes designs which, following discussion with our design team can be adjusted to meet your needs.

 

What do I need on site before my modular home can be delivered?No foundations are required for a modular home, however the site must be stripped, leveled and finished with either concrete or stone. All utilities and services must be available on site. i.e drainage, water supply and electricity supply.

 What do modular homes cost?The cost of your home depends entirely on the size, design and finishes you choose. However the average starting price is £ 25,000.
